The Krytox™ oils and greases range from Chemours™
Krytox™ is a range of oils and greases with outstanding chemical and mechanical properties. They were originally developed for the NASA Apollo mission in the middle of the last century. Since then, products in the Krytox™ range have gained entry into almost all industrial sectors.
Krytox™ oils consist of perfluoropolyether (PFPE), a liquid and very slowly-reacting fluoropolymer. The greases in the Krytox™ range consist of PFPE as base oil and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as functional thickener. The original manufacturer DuPont® also sold PTFE under the Teflon™ brand name. It is a very thermally stable, dry lubricant with exceptional properties. The PTFE used has not only a thickening effect, it also ensures higher stability and greater reliability due to additional emergency running characteristics.
